The Duree Center Team
The Duree Center for Entrepreneurship of Lindenwood University, in conjunction with the Economic Development Center of St. Charles County (EDC) and the Partners for Progress of Greater St. Charles (PfP), will host the Arts and Entrepreneurship Symposium on April 27th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm in the Dunseth Auditorium located in Harmon Hall at Lindenwood University.
For the professional fine or performing artist, a strong level of business expertise can be almost as important as the ability to create a masterpiece. For this reason, this symposium was designed specifically to teach artist-entrepreneurs to apply key business principles to their art form so that they will be better equipped to successfully start or grow their businesses.
The Arts and Entrepreneurship Symposium will have four featured topics with acknowledged experts as the presenters on each of these disciplines as they relate to the arts in:
-
Intellectual property
-
Marketing
-
Funding
-
Entrepreneurship
The format of the symposium provides for a plenary session with an 30-minute overview by each of the presenters. After this opening session, the experts will breakout into small-groups that will create a more personal feel and enable them to provide attention to individual inquiries and concerns. Attendees may float between the various small-group discussions to extract the expertise they are seeking.
